We chose to have an event using Walt Disney as our inspiration because he was a dyslexic person himself. As he was attending school when he was young, he struggled a lot in his classes. He resorted to drawing, painting, and selling pictures to his neighbors and family friends. He grew up to be a producer and animation artist. He became a very successful man who was a positive figure for many people around the world. We used Walt Disney because most people know who he is and we want children to be able to feel comfortable with our event as we raise awareness and money for the International Dyslexia Association.
